UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) from uidai.gov.in Government of India website, it is easier and simpler for all people to get updated or corrected their Aadhaar card both online and offline. Update Your Aadhaar Card Details Online
Generally, any individual can change the address, date of birth, name, gender, email ID, and mobile number on the Aadhaar card. An applicant can update the address in Aadhaar whenever he relocates his residence place. The address in the Aadhaar card can be updated as many times as the individual changes the address of his living place. Here’s how to change the address in Aadhaar online:
Follow these steps to update/change/correct the details of your Aadhaar card online,
Step 1: First, visit the Aadhaar Self-Service Update Portal
Step 2: To change or update your address, click on “Update Address” and then click on “Request for Address Validation Letter.”
Step 3: A new window, https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/, will open. In it, you must enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
Step 4: After entering the 12-digit Aadhaar number, enter the text or characters verification code in the box and then click on “Send OTP” or “Enter TOTP.”
Step 5: A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the mobile number registered in UIDAI’s database.
Step 6: Type that OTP to enter or log in to your Aadhaar account
Step 7: OR you can use the TOTP feature to certify
Step 8: After entering the Aadhaar account, tick the Address option and click on the “Submit button.”
Step 9: In the Proof of Address (PoA), enter the residential address you want to update on your Aadhaar card and then click on the “Submit Update Request” button.
Step 10: To correct or modify your residential address, click the “Modify” option.
Step 11: Once the address details are entered, tick the declaration and then press the “Proceed button.
Step 12: Now, choose the document type you want to submit as your PoA for substantiation, upload the scanned copy of your address proof, and click on the “Submit” button.
Step 13: Press the “Yes” button, select the BPO service provider to verify your address details, and click the “Submit” button.
Step 14: The BPO service provider will inspect whether the address details mentioned in the form match the POA and pass the request to UIDAI. Your updated request for the address on your Aadhaar card will then be accepted, and you will receive an acknowledgment slip.
The Acknowledgement Slip holds the Update Request Number (URN), which can be used for any queries. Once your Aadhaar card is updated, you can download and print out your updated version of the Aadhaar card.
What Aadhaar Details Can Be Changed Online?
Not all the details can be updated or corrected online; as per the latest internet developments, only addresses in the Aadhaar can be updated online. In case a person wants to update, correct, or modify the following details, then he/she has to visit the nearby Aadhaar Enrolment Centre:

- Date of Birth

How to Update/Change Name in Aadhaar

Step 1: First, visit the Aadhaar Enrolment/Update Centre and fill in all the details in the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction Form
Step 2: Enter your correct name with correct spelling in the form
Step 3: Submit the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction form with the applicable Proof of Identity (PoI)
Step 4: The authorized executive will register your updated/changed Name in the Aadhaar update request
Step 5: After completing the process, you will get an acknowledgment slip, which can be used for further inquiries.
Step 6: To avail this facility, you have to pay ₹ 25/- as a fee.
How to Update or Change Your Mobile Number in Aadhaar
There are situations in which people no longer use their old mobile number or they might have changed their mobile number and want to update their new mobile number in Aadhaar. An individual can update or change his mobile number in Aadhaar by following the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Visit the Aadhaar Enrolment/Update Centre
Step 2: Fill in all the details in the mobile number Aadhaar Update Form
Step 3: Mention your current mobile number correctly in the form; there is no need to mention your old mobile number.
Step 4: There is no need to provide any proof to update your mobile number in Aadhaar
Step 5: The authorized executive will register your update or change his mobile number request
Step 6: Then, as a last step of the process, you will receive an acknowledgment slip which holds the URN
Step 7: A fee of ₹ 25/- is collected to avail this service
How to Change the DoB in Aadhaar Card
You can change or update your date of birth mentioned in your Aadhaar by following the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: First visit to a nearby Aadhaar Enrolment Centre
Step 2: Fill out the date of birth Aadhaar update form properly. Mention your Date of Birth correctly.
Step 3: No need to mention the date of birth, which was mentioned in the card
Step 4: Submit the relevant proof of your date of birth along with the Aadhaar update form
Step 5: The authorized executive takes your biometrics as evidence of your identity
Step 6: You will receive an acknowledgment slip with the Ua RN
Step 7: The URN can be used for further enquiries like to know the Aadhaar update status
Step 8: A fee of ₹25/- has to be paid to the executive for using this service
Step 9: It will take around 90 days to update your Date of Birth in your Aadhaar card.
Updating Aadhaar Card Details through Post
You can also update your Aadhaar card details by sending the request to the Unique Identification Authority of India or UIDAI through the post. Here are the steps involved in this process:
- Visit the UIDAI portal and download the “Aadhaar Data Update/Correction Form.” Fill out all the required information to change your Aadhaar card.
- Compile all the needed photocopies of the documents that formalize the changes requested to be made in the Aadhaar Data Update/Correction Form.
- After compiling the form and any needed documents or proofs, please send them to the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre postal address nearest to your address.
